Corinne Ransome Williams was born in Norwich and educated at The Norwich High School. She left the city on her marriage to a local government solicitor and lived briefly in Lancashire, and then thirty years in Hertfordshire, returning to Norwich on her husband's retirement.
In her thirties she began a singer career, giving lieder recitals and concerts for many years. Her interests include the Townswomans' Guild and political affairs. She has two sons, a daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren.
