This is a systematic, historical and critical study of a religious phenomena of the last 30 years. The disappearance of the Trident Mass and the unrelenting assualt on the Book of Common Prayer have created widespread hostility and a substantial loss of membership. This survey should be of interest to church people, but the topic has further linguistic and sociological implications, with relevance to liturgiology, theology, Church history and literary criticism. This is an analysis considering various views but is mainly written from a conservative standpoint.
